Get a taste of Indian culture in Stafford

The word ‘Mandir’ means a place where your mind is still. Our city’s diversity draws people from all walks of life to BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Stafford, Texas, a Hindu place of worship.

The Mandir is made of limestone on the outside and Italian Carrera marble on the inside. 33,000 stones were imported from India and assembled like a 3D puzzle. It is white as a reminder to be pure. It’s not just art you see, there is a meaning behind every sculpture. In Hinduism, every aspect of community is respected, from flowers to animals to people.

As beautiful as the exterior is, holiness is within. Once inside, you will offer your prayer, worship and devotion.

BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir volunteer Viral Desai says that in Hinduism there is a belief that whatever you do in life you must first present it to God before taking it to yourself. Whatever you believe in, you must offer it with your true heart.

BAPS provides ongoing service to the community through scholarships, charitable donations and food distributions.

During your visit, you can also purchase authentic Indian food and educational materials from their gift shop.
