An opening date has been announced for Glasgow’s newest Indian restaurant, Rickshaw and Co, which will arrive in the city next month.
Promising an ‘exotic culinary adventure’ in the city’s west, the team behind the exciting new 120-seat restaurant and stylish cafe-bar also revealed the ‘colorful cuisine’ foodies can expect to find on its dynamic Indian and Bangladeshi menus.
Rickshaw and Co will open on Thursday June 2 and will welcome diners from morning to evening, seven days a week.
Making the announcement today, the owners say, “Bringing a world of spices and Bengali coffee culture, customers are invited to stay for a cup of chai or a cocktail, sample their modern street food or share comfort food or a tasty snack from the intoxicating all-day menu at Rickshaw.

“There’s everything from tantalizing small plates, fresh tandoori grills, biryanis, salad bowls, wraps, boxes of tiffins and larger curries to suit all dietary needs, including vegans and vegetarians. .
“Signature dishes on the menu include Pav Bhaji – a Mumbai street food. It features homemade bread baked on site, with a delicious thick vegetable curry to soak up the soft bread that melts in your mouth.
“From their tandoori oven, spice lovers will love their slow-cooked charcoal-grilled lamb chops with hot Kashmiri chilies. Paneer tikka is another must-try. Indian cottage cheese is marinated in a spice blend homemade with refreshing yogurt and turmeric, then charred to lock in the flavor..
“You’ll also find fragrant curries on the menu, like their specialty Goan King Prawn. Bangladeshi coastal king prawns are marinated in a signature spice blend with a sweet coconut cream that complements both varieties of rice and bread.
“Before or after your meal, stick around for a drink and soak up the eclectic atmosphere of their stylish coffee bar or mezzanine with their interesting list of cocktails, wines and craft beers.
“Located in the heart of the West End in the former Hyde cocktail bar, Rickshaw & Co will offer a modern perspective on street food from the bustling food markets of India and Bangladesh.”
