Glasgow’s Swadish Restaurant Wins Scotland’s Best Indian Restaurant Award


A POPULAR Indian restaurant in Glasgow has won the award for Best Restaurant in Scotland.

Swadish, located in Merchant City, won Best Indian Restaurant at the Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards.

The team, with owner and manager Ajay Kumar at the helm, took to social media to express their joy at the achievement and thank their customers for their support.


“We are absolutely delighted to have won the Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality award.

“We THANK YOU to everyone who supported us in winning this prestigious accolade last night. We couldn’t do it without your LOVE and support.

“I love you all amazing people.”

The Swadish team were praised by their regulars, one of whom commented, “It’s so deserved. Your food is just amazing. Enjoy the party!”

Another said: ‘Couldn’t go to a more dedicated and professional team…someone to beat you…should be amazing.’

It was a successful evening for hospitality venues in and around Glasgow, with the Curry Lounge in Hamilton and Charcoals in the Trongate both highly recommended in the same category.

Best Sport’s Bar went to McGoldrick’s Pool and Sports Bar in Rutherglen, while Paisley restaurant The Clippens Inn won Best Pub.

Glasgow club The Record Factory won the award for best nightspot.
