Inaugural Diwali Mela to celebrate Indian culture in Brentwood on October 16 | Brentwood


For the first time, Brentwood will host an event celebrating the Indian Festival of Lights, Diwali, as part of a fundraiser for the United Indian Association.

Diwali Mela, hosted by the United Indian Association, runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 16 at City Park. According to event organizer Manish Jain, it will feature a variety of Indian, Sri Lankan and Mexican dishes, as well as vendor stalls and a “Kid Zone” with activities for the youngest. Tickets are $6, but kids 5 and under attend for free.

“We are thrilled to host this gathering for the community,” Jain said. “Not just the Indian community, but the whole local community. India has a rich cultural history which we want to share with people.
