A new dining option will be available in Mount Isa starting Friday. An Indian restaurant called Bengali Kitchen opens tomorrow night at 79 Camooweal St. The place may be familiar to many Mount Isans, it is on the site of the old Arvos Tapas Bar which closed its doors the year last. Two Bangladeshi families are behind Bengali Kitchen and Chef Huq said they will cook authentic spicy Indian food, including halal options. Huq’s wife, Moon Moon, said they wanted to start a family-friendly Indian restaurant in Mount Isa. “It will be a welcoming, family-friendly place where you can sit with family and friends and enjoy dinner with your own booze,” she said. “It is a perfect place and there is no problem with parking here.” Bengali Kitchen will be open from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. seven nights a week and is BYO. A take out menu is available and they will be delivered anywhere in town for $ 4. The place is perhaps familiar to many Mont Isans, it is on the site of the old Arvos Tapas Bar which closed its doors last year.
Two Bangladeshi families are behind Bengali Kitchen and Chef Huq said they will cook authentic spicy Indian dishes, including halal options.
Huq’s wife, Moon Moon, said they wanted to start a family-friendly Indian restaurant in Mount Isa.

Moon Moon and Sifat will be in charge of Bengali Kitchen.
“It will be a welcoming, family-friendly place where you can sit with family and friends and enjoy dinner with your own booze,” she said.
