The new owners of a popular and long-established Indian restaurant in Exeter have invested Â£ 50,000 in major changes which are now being appreciated by customers.
Bombay Spice in North Street was taken over by Kamal Karim, who has many years of experience running Indian restaurants and who previously ran Rajpoot in Okehampton.
The 70-seat restaurant and take-out in Exeter is the first he has run in the city and he’s already made a mark on the venue with an impressive makeover and changing his menu to offer even more choices to customers.

Kamal said: âEverything is new. We have created a whole new menu with more dishes, including starters and main courses, and have a new chef.
âWe have renovated the restaurant and the changes include new toilets, kitchen, floor, staircase, lighting, decoration and signage.
âA lot of money has been invested to create a new adventure.

âWe expect more business from local customers and also from students.
âWe came to Exeter because it is a growing city and one of the best towns in Devon.
“The people here are very friendly and it’s quite multicultural. We haven’t changed the name of the restaurant because it already has a good reputation.”
Bombay Spice, formerly known as Red Rose, is said to have been created around 25 years ago.
Popular new dishes include Monchurian Chicken, cooked with red and green peppers and Goan spices, a Bombay mix starter, and the best naan bread with keema and cilantro.
