Prasar Bharati and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday to promote Indian culture.
Under the agreement, performances by prominent artists associated with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will be shown on various channels in Doordarshan, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said.
The dance and music performances will be featured on DD National, DD India, Doordarshan regional channels and Prasar Bharati News Services (Prasar Bharati’s digital platform) as a weekly program.
“The MoU aims to bring the best of Indian culture to national and international audiences and to provide TV and digital platforms for performing artists,” he said.
In collaboration with ICCR, Doordarshan will produce 52 half-hour episodes, based on cultural events / concerts / music / dance performances.
