Prasar Bharati and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday, whereby the two entities will henceforth promote Indian culture.

Reportedly, performances by prominent artists associated with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will be aired on Doordarshan’s national and international channels. Dance and music performances will be featured on DD National, DD India, Doordarshan regional channels and Prasar Bharati News Services (Prasar Bharati’s digital platform) as a weekly program.

The MoU aims to bring the best of Indian culture to national and international audiences and provide television and digital platforms for performers.

In collaboration with ICCR, Doordarshan will produce 52 half-hour episodes, based on cultural events, concerts, music and dance performances organized by ICCR.

Doordarshan Managing Director Mayank Kumar Agrawal and Indian Council for Cultural Relations Managing Director Dinesh K Patnaik signed the MoU.

This MoU will be in effect for three years – from December 2021 to December 2024.
