Rickshaw and Co Indian restaurant to open in Glasgow’s West End


A new Indian street food restaurant is set to open in Glasgow’s West End next month, promising to bring a taste of roadside cafe culture to the city.

Spread over two floors, Rickshaw & Co. will have room for 120 guests as well as an outdoor terrace in the former home of the Hyde Cocktail Bar.

The team is currently recruiting around 20 staff ahead of their grand opening later this spring.

Co-owners Tushar Ahmed and Gulshan Soni say they hope Rickshaw & Co will allow them to share their childhood experiences of India’s “amazing flavors, colors and culture”.

Tushar said, “Street food is a way of life in India.

“From roadside rickshaws to local delicacies, our team works hard to create a space where you soak up the sensations, aromas and flavors of Bombay in Dhaka.

“Whether you want to enjoy a savory snack or a cocktail, fuchka street style – India’s most popular roadside item, our contemporary all-day menu offers a tantalizing discovery of dishes and something thing for everyone.

“We promise to take you on a journey at Rickshaw & Co. From the moment you step into our bold interiors to the sensory explosion of our small plates, we’re thrilled to launch our vision later this spring.”
